BG3ToughBuilt is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative and high quality tools and other accessories for the professional and DIY construction industries.

 Since Toughbuilt's launch into the UK market their chosen freight-forwarding and distribution partner had been performing poorly. Toughbuilt needed to identify a dependable and strategic distribution partner, able to improve their customer service levels and offer additional services to their customers, including online ordering.
 

Approach

  • Reviewed the existing business and identified the critical areas of weakness of the incumbent to specify the requirements a new partner would need to fulfil.
  • Built a tender document to identify the strategic options that their future partner would need to deliver, prioritising critical and positive differentiators.
  • Shortlisted potential strategic partners, engaging with five parties, and put them through a competitive RFP tender process to assess strategic, operational, commercial and business fit.
  • Visited the potential sites with the client to ensure the best-fit partner and solution was selected.
  • Assisted with the negotiation and conclusion of the agreement, helping the client and strategic partner agree the key metrics & KPI's and providing a contractual framework to protect the client.
