Jonathan is a consumer focused management consultant and collaborator with over 20 years experience in Consumer Goods and Retail sectors. Jonathan founded Simply Supply Chain in 2006, combining a holistic understanding of the end-to-end supply chain with a fast track application of industry leading tools and techniques. He has expertise in managing the relationships between sales, marketing and supply chain clients to improve on-shelf availability, at lowest end-to-end cost.

Richard has over 20 years’ experience within the grocery sector, supporting global FMCG brands to entrepreneurial start-ups. His experience spans right across the customer journey, working with data to extract actionable insights to drive forecasting accuracy, service improvements and executing brand strategy around new product development – opening up channels and markets that were difficult to crack and advising on business growth plans. Richard has also previously worked on projects, changing and implementing new process as a result of the changes created by Brexit.
Richard’s skills lie in his ability to not only decipher vast amounts of data but to work collaboratively with a team to ensure robust supply chain optimisation and delivery of an exceptional customer service.
Richard currently supports Simply Supply Chain with workgroup projects around forecasting and promotions best practice, Good Received Not Invoiced and is also pivotal in our partnership with Amazon to help improve the current good receipting process.

Nick, CEO of Incept, has extensive domain expertise in optimising “End to End” (E2E) supply chains, from raw materials to recycling, working with fortune 500 clients in multi-actor collaborations, developing value network methodology, processes, analytics and strategies, delivering innovative network cost optimisation.
Having contributed to the early development of category management, subsequent work with the IGD on product cost & profit modelling standards, led to becoming lead consultant to the ECR Europe profit impact task force, creating and implementing ground-breaking industry standards for E2E cost collaboration with Ahold, P&G, Tesco, Unilever, Metro, Coca-Cola & Carrefour etc.
Since then, he contributed to the establishment of CO2e standard metrics with DEFRA & ADEME, created models for the Physical Internet, and recently led the AiEVO project, building and testing leading edge applications for Ai driven digital E2E Network Value Optimisation (eNVO).
Using the eNVO tools in the AiEVO project proved suppliers and retailers could identify E2E opportunities to reduce cost and waste by 15-30%, within existing operating parameters as well as tracking CO2e consumption and packaging waste at SKU case level.
Incept and Simply Supply Chain recently created a joint venture to further develop and implement the eNVO modelling tools within collaborative industry groups.
Nick has published research papers with Heriot Watt, Westminster, Georgia tech and Cranfield Universities, authored UK freight & transport CO2e reports for the CILT and Independent Transport Commission, developed GHG methodology with ADEME & DEFRA, been recognised as a Physical Internet Pioneer and is active in many industry groups.

Melissa recently graduated from the University of Cambridge and has joined Simply Supply Chain as our Supply Chain Analyst and Marketing Assistant supporting both membership and consultancy projects. Melissa’s eye for detail and analytical capability increases our ability to research key topics and develop market insights. She has also accumulated diverse marketing and design experience, producing graphics and writing copy for websites, social media, articles and proposals.

Mark Rowbotham specialises in International Trade, Customs and Excise Issues, working in both the Government and Commercial sectors. He deals primarily with Risk Management, Compliance, Control and Procedural issues in Customs, Excise, International Logistics and Supply Chain matters. He is also a specialist in Customs and Excise Compliance, Export Controls, Offshore Logistics and Controls and has supported many Food and Drinks companies, most recently in the run-up to Brexit.
He has operational experience as an Import & Export Landing Control Officer in HM Customs & Excise, responsible for Import and Export Controls over Multimodal and Maritime Freight traffic into and out of UK Ports, including excise issues. Also, Airport Cargo Customs controls, dealing with import and export freight shipments landed through several UK airports.
As a Customs & Sea Freight Operations Analyst for Nippon Express he was largely responsible for setting up a new branch of the company at the Port of Felixstowe, before supporting a range of contract assignments designing and implementing sea freight operations manuals and systems, including Leyland-DAF Vehicles near Preston, Lancashire.
He has also written extensively on the subjects of Logistics and Economics, Customs, VAT, Export Controls, Maritime and International Supply Chain Compliance issues for a wide variety of publications, including International Trade, Logistics and Shipping Magazines, and Journals for the University of Cranfield and Glasgow
